Question for CTS
A1.
The impact speed of the hammer can be calculated by the accelerometer installed on the hammer, and the measured data is automatically corrected. If the impact speed is appropriate, CTS beeps 1 time. When the impact speed is too fast, CTS beeps 3 times and if you do not hear any beep, you need to hit faster.
A2.
Measured data of CTS reflects approximately 50mm from the concrete surface. The Figure shown in below is a measurement result of testing a concrete cube that contains 3 pieces of polystyrene foams at a depth of 15mm, 25mm and 35mm from the surface. You can see the polystyrene is still affect to the measured data even 35mm.
A3.
CTS is not applicable for thin concrete plate (less than 100mm) because the concrete may be bent by the impact. Your target concrete should be more than 100mm.
A4.
No. You need to hit the concrete body directly.
