What is NDIS?

NDIS is published by JSNDI (Japanese Society for Non-destructive Inspection) in order to standardize and disperse the technology.

CTS and NDIS

CTS applies Mechanical Impedance Method that is standardized as in “NDIS 3434-3 Non-destructive testing of concrete - Impact testing method Part3: Test Method for Measuring the Mechanical Impedance”.

Contents of NDIS

“NDIS 3434” consists of Part1: General principles, Part2: Method for Measuring the Contact time, and Part3: Test Method for Measuring the Mechanical Impedance. Outline of each part is described as followings.

●NDIS 3434-1 Part1: General principles

Definition and application of the Contact time measurement and Mechanical Impedance method is described in this part. Number of measurement to obtain reliable result is described in the exposition in this part as well.

●NDIS 3434-2 Part2: Method for Measuring the Contact time

Details of the calculation method of contact time, recording method and the apparatus are defined in this part. Also, an example of the measurement and evaluation method for existing concrete structure is written in the informative as a reference.

●NDIS 3434-3 Part3: Test Method for Measuring the Mechanical Impedance

Details of the calculation method of mechanical impedance, recording method and the apparatus are defined in this part. Also, an example of the procedure for compressive strength estimation of concrete by measuring the mechanical impedance is written in the informative as a reference.
